PEACH VAN PLETZEN
Senior Engineer / Composer / Producer
Peach has steadily developed a reputation as one of South Africa’s most innovative and reliable audio magicians, both as a producer and as a performer-collaborator.
In studio and on stage he works closely with a diverse range of SA’s top artists, including Stogie T, Francois van Coke, Early B, Jack Parow, Droomsindroom, Bouwer Bosch, Samthing Soweto, Jan Bloukaas, The Kiffness, as well as his own bands Van Pletzen and Bittereinder.
Peach has produced three SAMA- winning albums, as well as amassing dozens of other awards and nominations since he founded the legendary “Sleeproom Studio” in 2006, which has evolved into PLANET AWESOME. In 2023 he won a SAFTA award for best score for his work on Netflix's "LUDIK" which he composed with fellow producer Louis Minnaar.
His latest original music score can be heard in Showmax's highly anticipated new series "Wyfie".
Peach is one of a very select group of artists who has performed on every single stage at Oppikoppi. If he is not creating music for artists, adverts, films and TV he is the host of his own successful talk show "PRAATING". He is also surprisingly philosophical for such a hilarious guy.
MATTHIEU AURIACOMBE
Junior Engineer / Composer / Producer
Matthieu Auriacombe (also known as Makkie, and more recently as “Nax”) emerged from the same alternative
music scene in Gauteng in which Peach found his roots.
Matthieu is a multi-instrumentalist musician and producer, and has an uncanny ability to sense what is truly cool. This half French beat making machine has an impeccable ear for melody and pure class. His solo act Hello Beautiful has collaborated with a host of SA’s finest musicians, and recently he has shot into eternal sociocultural infamy as Peach’s side-kick in their chart-topping duo known as Van Pletzen. He is also surprisingly hilarious for such a philosophical guy.
LOUIS MINNAAR
Sound Designer / Composer
Visual artist by day, sonic magician by night, Louis Minnaar is no stranger to the world of putting sound to pictures. Being an animator and film maker, Minnaar has a cultured understanding of how sound affects and heightens visuals, which has allowed him to flourish as a sound designer and composer over the last 10 years. Minnaar also forms part of the SAMA award winning Electro-Rap group, Bittereinder, along with Peach van Pletzen.
